Right now you are probably wondering what plogging is.

Plogging is a new Scandinavian workout trend. It involves picking up trash while jogging. The word itself is a combination of a Swedish word “plocka upp” an “jogging”.

The first mention of this trend was on Instagram in 2016, but it is still pretty new in the United States.

Just last month, Keep America Beautiful partnered with health app Lifesum to support the fitness trend.

If you’re living in a big urban area, stopping to pick up every piece of garbage can be challenging and kind of annoying but do it as a chore.

But, if you’re in a suburban area, where there’s a lot less trash around, stopping to plog every now and then can make your workout pretty fun.

According to Lifesum, if you plog for just 30 minutes, you’ll burn about 288 calories.

You can also try it yourself, have fun and help the environment at the same time.
